Rotary Club Szczecin partners with a Global Grant project in India
08.06.2026
The Rotary Club of Szczecin is once again involved in an international humanitarian project funded under the Rotary Foundation’s Global Grant programme.
On the initiative of our Club President, Zbigniew Nagaya, we have established a cooperation with the Rotary Club of Sullia City in the state of Karnataka, India. This cooperation has resulted in a project aimed at establishing a modern, fully equipped ophthalmology ward at the Sullia Government Hospital.
As part of this project, the hospital will be equipped with specialist diagnostic and surgical equipment, enabling high-standard ophthalmological examinations, treatment and procedures to be carried out. The implementation of the project will significantly improve access to modern and affordable ophthalmological care for residents of the Sullia region, contributing to an improved quality of life for thousands of patients.
We are pleased to announce that the joint proposal submitted by the Rotary Club of Sullia City and the Rotary Club of Szczecin has been favourably assessed and approved by both the Rotary Foundation in India and The Rotary Foundation.
The total value of the grant awarded is USD 35,303.
It is precisely such initiatives that best demonstrate that the idea of ‘Service Above Self’ knows no boundaries and unites Rotarians around the world.
